Saler National Calf Championship Final 2007 Champions both sired by Corlurgan herd sires.

Corlurgan Gladys (sired by Scorpion) was crowned Saler National Female Calf Champion 2007,along with Lataster Georgie (sired by Corlurgan Ourson, who is available through AI) was crowned Saler National Male Calf Champion 2007 at the final on Tuesday 25th Sept. 2007 at The National Ploughing Championship in Tullamore. Lataster Georgie is bred and owned by Brendan Clarke.

Scorpion sired stock won one 1st and two 2nd ‘s in this years final in the National Calf Competition.

It was with great pleasure that Mairead McGuinness, Fine Gael MEP for Ireland East, visited the Saler Society of Ireland Stand at this years Ploughing Championship in Annaharvey Farm, Tullamore, Co. Offaly to lend a hand with our prize winners.(As seen in picture)

2nd Salers National Show and Sale 2007

Corlurgan Farha-1st in her section & Reserve Female Champion at The 2nd Salers National Show and Sale 2007. She is a daughter of  Ourson.Another daughter of Ourson "Lataster Gayle" also came first in her section.

In March 2007 Ourson progeny, Corlurgan Ferris,was the winner of the F.B.D. prize in Tully test station-one of the only 2 Salers bulls ever to achieve this honour-the other one being Lataster Eric, which was exported to France.

Brian Halton, Bailieboro, with the Male Champion Saler, Corlurgan Festus and John Elliot, Judge at the Saler Society’s first Pedigree Show & Sale in Mountrath.

Festus was sired by Corlurgan Ourson who is with Munster AI and Progressive Genetics (NCBC). His half sister also won 1^st in the Junior heifer class.

A large group of French Saler breeders led by Pascal Trapenat on a visit to the Corlurgan Saler Herd, Bailieboro’ after attending The National Livestock Show in Tullamore 2006.

The Salers Cattle Society nominee for the National Hall of Fame Award for 2006 Brian Halton, Bailieboro’ receiving his award from Ray Mc Sharry (EU Agri Commissioner 1989 –1993). It is an acknowledgement of Brian’s dedication and commitment to the Saler breed.
